Climbing La Concha (1.215 m), Marbella’s mountain Features of the trek: a 5 hrs walk on tracks and mountain paths (with some very easy rock at the last part to the summit block, without climbing or scramble), 500 m of total ascent. 8 km. Medium sup. level trek. A real mountain experience, spectacular views from the summit and possible spotting of the Spanish Wild Goat. Treks all the year long (avoiding midday hours from mid June to mid September). Ideal for walkers with some good condition. Starting point: fence at the parking of the track to ‘Mirador de Marbella’ (also known as ‘Mirador de Puerto Rico’), close to Refugio de Juanar.
Features of the trek: excursion of 9 hrs on mountain tracks with some less defined sections. 1000 m of total ascent. 20 km. High level trek. Long mountain walk, going through high altitude landscapes, with possible spotting of wild fauna, Pinsapo trees and other characteristic species. Walks all the year (even with snow, if weather conditions are good). Recommended for very active and adventurous people. Starting point: ‘Mirador de Luis Ceballos o Caucón’ (Yunquera). Possible meeting point with the guide at the hotel.
Features of the trek: 3 hrs walking on mountain paths with some less defined sections. Possibility of a very simple scramble according to the level of participants. 560 m of total ascent. 7,5 km. Mid level trek. Simple round walk with possible ascent to a peak in a less know area of Sierra Blanca with spotting of Pinsapo trees and possible sight of the Spanish Wild Goat. It is done the whole year (avoiding midday hours from mid June to mid September). Thought for participants with normal condition. Starting point: Parking of the Refugio de Juanar.
Features of the trek: excursion of 3 hrs on a 4WD track and well marked mountain paths. 200 m of total ascent. 5 km. Very easy level walk. Simple round excursion through the ‘Olivar de Juanar’ with landscape interpretation and spotting of Mediterranean vegetal species. It is walked all the year. Good for families with children and people with limited mobility. Starting point: Parking of the Refugio de Juanar.
Features: course of ½ day (4 hrs) in a natural area close to the hotel. We will learn how to read maps and interpretation of cartography, using of compass and GPS, methods and navigation tricks, as well as an introduction to the Orienteering Sport. Easy level. It is not neccesary any previous knowledge. Material is provided by the teacher-guide. Conducted all the year. Thought for families, groups (companies, incentives, team-building, etc…) and walkers who want to learn more about the outdoor sports. Starting point: Venta de Purla. |
